Why do wrinkles appear when bending pipes?
Release date:2022-07-01
Why do wrinkles appear when forming metal bends? When bending iron pipes, the reason for the wrinkles displayed at the bend is due to uneven compression on the inner side of the bend. If allowed, increasing the curvature radius of the bend or using heating methods may prevent or increase the appearance of wrinkles. In addition, all you need to do is process the bend, and there will be indentations at the bend.
The outer side of the curved area is stretched and the inner side is compressed. The wrinkles are displayed on the inner side.
Prevention measures:
1. Reasonably designed bend pipe grinding tools.
2. Increase the wall thickness of the iron pipe appropriately.
3. Increase the bending radius of the elbow.
Just process the bend, and there will be indentations at the bend. It's just a matter of being more or less, which has a lot to do with the mold. Especially when the radius is small and the wall is thin, a core rod can be used when bending. The indentation is normal, but it is important to see if the depth is too deep, so the grinding tool should be soaked as much as possible.
